Essential UH-60 Phased Maintenance inspection(PMI) tools
We’ve compiled a list of essential tools for UH-60 Phased Maintenance Inspections(PMI). This list is not a comprehensive list and other tools may be required, however it’s a good starting place.
Main transmission filter valve closing tool - PN: UH60MGBFT/WP2289/AB2242D -
Used to close the UH60A main gearbox oil filter valve before the bowl is removed. Accepts a 1/2” drive socket wrench or extension.
Not required for IDGB filter housings/bowls.
Input module torque reactor - PN: AB3509A -
UH60/S70 Blackhawk torque reactor for main gearbox input module flange.
Main transmission chip detector closing tool - PN: UH60TCDT -
Shuts off the flow on the XMSN Chip Detector for safe removal without damaging the chip detector.
Compact and easy to take during aircraft operation when cautionary XMSN chip lights happen. Tool is designed to fit precisely on the chip detector and rotate the strainer to the ON or OFF flow position.
Oil cooler aft viscous bearing tool kit - PN: UH60OCTK -
Designed to remove, replace and reinstall UH60 oil cooler viscous damper bearings( PN SB1138-102).
Includes; castellated socket(PN: 70700-20687-102), driveline torque reactor (PN: 410404-1/70700-20688-041) and viscous damper bearing puller.
Bifilar bolt holding tool - PN: UH60BHT -
Holds both bifilar weight bolt heads for ease of tightening and disassembly.
Damper servicing tool - PN: UH60DHTA -
Holds the main rotor damper indicator in the extended position for servicing.
Scissor bushing puller set - PN: UH60SBP -
Not required, but nice to have as the swashplate scissors are a common wear item. Highly recommended to replace and shim at the PMI 2.
Main rotor blade pin bushing pressing tool - PN: UH60MRBB -
Not required but nice to have. Blade pin bushings have a tendancy to migrate and require replacement/adjustment.
Tail rotor head bolt organizer - PN: UH60TRBO -
Easily organize and retain tail rotor bolts/balance weights in their correct locations.
Pitch beam socket - PN: UH60PBNS -
Our pitch beam nut socket replaces the spanner adaptor and uses two pitch beam nut holes for torquing, reducing the chance of hole elongation and slippage.
Pitch beam puller - PN: UH60PBP -
Our tool is a blank sheet design prioritizing simplicity, ease of use and affordability. It provides 360-degree support of the pitch beam inboard face when removing the pitch beam, unlike other models.
An essential tool for PMI inspections and tail rotor removal. The tool disassembles and packs flat for transport and field maintenance.
